In March 1998, Ulee's Gold, starring Peter Fonda as a beekeeper, was nominated for an Academy Award. In honor of the occasion we present information about the film from the National Honey Board along with several honey recipes.
Makes 12 servings
1-3/4 cups buttermilk baking mix
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup low-fat 2% milk
2 Tablespoons honey
In large bowl, combine all ingredients until dough forms; beat 30 seconds. Turn dough onto surface dusted with baking mix; gently roll in baking mix to coat. Shape into ball; knead 10 times. Roll or pat out 1/2-inch thick. Cut with 2-inch cutter dipped in baking mix. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450F, 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown. Serve with additional honey.
