I think that what you want is called "rosettes" and is made with a rosette iron. they are very inexpensive and can be found anywhere. If this is what you want this recipe will work. 1/2 cup flour, 1T sugar, 1/2t salt, 12/ cup water or milk, 1 egg beaten, 1 T veg. oil, Mix all ingredients, strain mixture. Heat 3 " oil in small pot. Heat rosette iron in oil. Dip into mixture to about 2/3 of iron and then into oil. fry untill browned. slide off iron onto paper towel and start again. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar. Tip, oil temp. and iron temp. are the trick to getting the rosette off the iron.

What you are looking for is a recipe for Chrusciki aka "angel wings bow ties". I was also raised on them at every holiday family wedding. My husband began calling them "Goose cheese" at the last family wedding, he couldn't pronounce Chrusciki.
Chrusciki - Yield 100
4 eggs, 6T sugar, 1t salt, 3T rum or whiskey, 3 1/2 c flour, 1t baking powder, 2lb butter (room temp), oil, confectioners sugar
Beat eggs until thick. Add sugar, salt rum. Combine flour baking powder - place on flat surface and make a well in the center. Add butter. Blend together using fingertips. Build up mixture and pour egg/sugar mixture in center. Using a fork start stirring liquid in and knead until smooth. Dough tends to be sticky, do not add extra flour unless absolutely necessary. Turn dough over and cut into 4 parts. Roll out paper thin on a lightly floured board. Using sharp knife cut into strips 2" wide by 3" across. Cut a slit in the center and pull one end through to form a bow. Fry in oil 375-400 degrees unitl golden. Drain on paper towels and dust with confectioners sugar.
I also have several other Polish recipes i.e. Placek Pierogi. Enjoy!
