Baking during the holidays doesn’t have to be stressful. You can make it a truly rewarding experience by turning it into an activity for the whole family to get involved in including the little ones. Try a classic recipe for Gingerbread Men and have a blast decorating them with candy and fun icing (or for a last minute Turkey Day activity, gather the kiddies together and make  adorable Gobble Gobble Sugar Cookies.

Yes, you can weigh down the turkey and you can you can also allow longer times for the turkey to defrost. Turkeys in some grocery stores (outside the Thanksgiving season) are often kept in deep freezers before they are moved out to the general freezer section, which may account for the longer defrost time.

Defrosting for longer periods in the refrigerator (overnight) is also okay as long as you cook the turkey soon after the defrosting is completed.

Has anyone ever participated in the Great American Bake Sale?  The event helps raise money to fight childhood hunger across the US.  I think its a great way to teach children about giving back, while having fun.  Anybody in here taking part in it this year??  I heard the event started back in March and is on untill the end of July.
