Who Made This House Wine?

Lunching at San Francisco's Neiman Marcus, I found the white house wine very pleasing... light... distinct touch of oak... refreshing but not too tart.. more melon than herbs or lemon... probably a '95 California Chardonnay. So, we asked the waiter, who graciously brought this bottle.

1995 Vendange Chardonnay, Appellation—California
Sonoma Vendange Winery

Category: Recommended in its Price Range

Postscript: You probably know what "vendange" means (French for the grape harvest)? but do you know who owns the Sonoma Vendange Winery? It's none other than the six-million-case Sonoma juggernaut, Sebastiani.
