The Rest of The Story: Winemaker Dan Lee developed such a good reputation in Monterey that 15 years ago he set out on his own, creating the Morgan Winery. Sure enough, he immediately scored with his Monterey Chardonnay. and he's still at it. In my last blind tasting his 13th Chardonnay vintage beat out five major competitors.
