Napa and Sonoma clashed in our Super Bowl battle. Each quarter there were three entries from each district, with some big names like Corison, Gary Farrell, Grgich, etc.

Here's the kickoff!

First Quarter

All White Wines

Sonoma won this quarter by 6 points with these entries:

Chardonnay, Gallo Family Vineyards,Sonoma County, 2007, $15
Sauvignon Blanc-Musque, Dry Creek Vineyards, 2006, $25

Second Quarter

Sparkler and Pinot Noir

Napa won this quarter by 3 points with these entries:

And a Final Wine Smile

Reuters reports that a Chinese billionaire paid $500,000 for 27 bottles of decades-old Romanee Conti (Burgundy). This reminds me of Mae West's comment, "I've been rich and I've been poor. Rich is better!"
