Serves 6 to 8
This drink uses frozen strawberries instead of ice to provide the slush content that is so crucial in summer beverages, especially in very hot climates. This is a gorgeous cocktail that will make even designated drivers feel greatly loved.
2 cups frozen strawberries
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar, or to taste
3 cups 7-Up or Sprite
Slices of lime, for garnish
Fresh strawberries, for garnish
Sugar-frost the rims of 6 or 8 highball glasses, and half-fill them with ice. In a blender, combine the strawberries, lemon juice, and sugar. Purée the mixture until smooth and slushy. Strain into a large pitcher and add the 7-Up. Mix well, garnish with the lime and strawberries, and serve in the prepared glasses.
