After: The bar-side of the peninsula has 11-feet of countertop that curves around the main kitchen. Track lights, at the very top of the shot, follow the same angle of the peninsula. Adjustable "eyeball" lights, recessed into the pitched ceiling, illuminate the countertops in the rest of the kitchen, along with dimmable undercabinet halogens for task lighting.

After: The kitchen and butler's pantry are just a few steps away from each other. When standing at the center of the kitchen's C-shaped floor space, the cook is just 2 steps or less away from any spot in the kitchen, including cabinets, countertops, range, cooktop, dishwasher and sink.

After: The peninsula as seen from the kitchen side. The cook's stool can be seen in the empty undercabinet space, where the cook can sit to prep or socialize with guests at the peninsula. To the right of the space is the pullout wastebasket drawer, and the cooktop is to the left, above the pots and pans drawers. The kitchen sink, not seen here, sits next to the dishwasher and is seamlessly made from the same solid surface material as the countertops.
