Fun in the kitchen?
It's as easy as "Mountains of Mud Pie!"
"I wish I had had Barbara Beery's new book when my two teenage daughters were younger. It's filled with creative, fun ways to get kids involved in the kitchen. What child could resist making such delicious and outrageous looking desserts? Grab your apron and invite your kid to discover the joys of cooking!"Mix together a few kids, delicious, easy-to-make dessert recipes, and plenty of fun, and what do you get? Batter Up Kids: Delicious Desserts by Barbara Beery. From the kitchen of the popular kids' cooking school Batter Up Kids comes a childrens' cookbook of simple, scrumptious recipes for a variety of desserts that any kid can make.
Batter Up Kids: Delicious Desserts is loaded with tasty treats, fruit-based snacks, and cake and cookie recipes, and comes with a durable child-sized cloth chef's hat that transforms any ordinary kid into a talented chef extraordinaire! But kids don't have to be kitchen experts to have fun with this cookbook. Easy-to-follow, color photos guide kids through each step of a recipe, from ingredients to the finished product, and are perfect for beginner culinary experts and the littlest chefs who can't yet read.
From Candy-Coated Dragonflies and Igloo Ice Pops to Blast-Off Blueberry Biscuits and Stack'em High Strawberry Shortcakes, these recipes are fun for any occasion, have inexpensive ingredients, and are as tasty as they sound. But Batter Up Kids: Delicious Desserts offers more than just mouthwatering recipes; also included are basic cooking techniques, a Kitchen Safety Patrol section, and general cooking lingo. Budding chefs will learn how many tablespoons are in a cup, and what it means to chill, chop, and dissolve, all in a fun kitchen environment.
Batter Up Kids: Delicious Desserts comes with a hardcover, spiral binding that lays perfectly flat on the countertop so even the smallest of cooks can work and clean around it in the kitchen. And with an easy-clean, wipe-off cover, spilt milk is no problem.
