Blending Milk Shakes
In a blender, combine ingredients (except ice cream). Cover with lid and blend on Low for 30 seconds. Gradually (if possible) increase speed to High and blend an additional 30 seconds or until smooth. Stop motor and add ice cream. Blend on Mix or Medium (or Low if using a two-speed blender) for 20 to 30 seconds or until ice cream is just mixed in. Add more liquid to thin or more ice cream to thicken, if desired.
1 cup (250 mL) milk
1 tbsp (15 mL) unsweetened cocoa powder or carob powder
1 frozen ripe banana, peeled and chopped
Pinch ground nutmeg
1 cup (250 mL) chocolate or vanilla ice cream
In blender. combine milk, cocoa powder, banana and nutmeg. Process as directed until smooth. Add ice cream and continue as directed until just mixed in.
