Hi! My name is Stephanie Zonis, and welcome to the February, 99 edition of "I Love Chocolate." I don't have any recipes to honor Groundhog Day, I'm afraid, but everything in the column this month can be geared toward Valentine's Day if you wish. If you are lucky enough to have a sweetheart, make sure you treat him or her well—and not just on February 14th! Happy Valentine's Day to all my readers.
February's Chocolate Find is ChocolatEpicure, a company that describes its service as "online ordering of the finest gourmet chocolates in the world". The company's website features a number of chocolatiers of excellent reputation (as well as several I've never heard of), and any reader will quickly encounter a dazzling array of chocolate in many forms. There are chocolatiers from Belgium, France, Italy, England, and the US--at least. You can also find recipes for some of the chocolates, corporate programs, and three chocolate "clubs" (essentially "chocolate-of-the-month" programs geared toward three different types of people).
I found ChocolatEpicure to have an easy-to-understand website, and they seem truly concerned that anyone who orders from it will be satisfied with their purchase (you can contact them via e-mail easily). One warning: these chocolates are largely handmade, and they are very expensive. Upon inquiry, however, I have found that ChocolatEpicure's standards are quite lofty, so I don't expect that any of the chocolates on their website are anything less than terrific. Chocolate is a world where you get what you pay for! Check out ChocolatEpicure at: www.chocolatepicure.com.
I Love Chocolate wants YOU!!! Do you have a comment, question, or suggestion? How about a recent chocolate "find" you'd like to share? You can contact me at: sdziadwm@[email-address-removed]; I'd like your input on this column. Thanks!
'Til next month,
Yours in chocolate,
Stephanie
