Holiday Greetings to our online family!
The USA Today article was particularly gratifying in many ways.
First, the opinions were expressed by everyday users like you—not paid reviewers.
Next, the eGG is not part of a huge corporation with dozens of staff members and a huge budget, but instead we are a small company with a very small staff (as we like to say, they are all only three inches tall!). The eGG is the very personal vision of my publisher/husband, Thomas Way, and myself. To be acknowledged among corporate giants is most rewarding.
We are especially pleased for our friends at CuisineNet—While they have a variety of excellent food articles, they are strongly known as a top-notch restaurant site; so to be compared with general food areas and receive such good marks is even more impressive. We are proud to be associated with them: you can visit them on the eGG on AOL at keyword: CuisineNet and on the Web at www.cuisinenet.com. Way to go, guys!
Finally, we constantly wrestle with technological changes: should we make the eGG fancier, should we add digital bells and whistles, downloadable enhancements and special effects? This poll seems to indicate that whatever we are doing, it is OK. Still, we are planning a redesign in the coming weeks and we would like to hear from you about any changes you'd like to see—or not see. *Please* email us at egg@foodwine.com or EggMail@[email-address-removed] with your suggestions.
Keep those emails coming in. It is not always possible for us to answer each and every one but we *do* read each and every one and we take them all into consideration. Thanks for making us No. 1—at least for this month!
Have a very merry Christmas and a totally awesome New Year! We're skipping a week on the eGG-Roll but will be back in January.
Warm regards from the eGGsters -
Kate & Thomas
