As I write this (1997), it is unknown who will be going to the Superbowl this year. Will it be Denver or Dallas? Or perhaps those wild and crazy "Cheeseheads" of Wisconsin, the Green Bay Packers? (We just love their nickname! Will someone please send us some Cheesehead hats? Too cool!)
We do know however that the Superbowl will be held in one of the great gastronomic capitals of North America, New Orleans. Over the years we have accumulated a bevy of Louisiana recipes, interviews and articles, some written in preparation for Mardi Gras. Whether you are visiting New Orleans for Fat Tuesday, which falls on February 12th this year, or throwing your own Superbowl bash, we think you'll find this a handy guide to one of the world's most distinctive food regions. Now, let the good times roll!—KH.
