	Anthony Dias Blue Tasting Notes: Here's another lovely Riesling, this time from Geyser Peak in Sonoma. This wine is richer and deeper than the Hogue wine. There is brisk apple and peach fruit with spritz and lots of spice. This is a delicious, habit-forming wine with enormous charm.
Winery Notes: Established in 1880 by pioneering winemaker Augustus Quitzow, Geyser Peak Winery changed focus and product mix several times in its first century. Over the years, there were a series of corporate owners and partners, but in 1982 the winery's destiny changed. At that time the winery and 500 acres of Alexander Valley vineyards were purchased by the present owners, Henry, Victor and Mark Trione of Santa Rosa, California. The Trione family were vineyard owners themselves and currently own over 1,500 acres in Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties. The turnaround began in 1989 when Daryl Groom, a young winemaker who made Penfolds' illustrious Grange Hermitage in Australia, became Geyser Peak's winemaker. Made with consistent attention to detail, veneration for tradition and spirited innovation, Geyser Peak wines display classic qualities in the context of a bold California winemaking style.
