Review by Debbie Mazo

Halloween
The scary movies of the summer may be over, but that's doesn't mean it's too late in the year to be spooked. In the spirit of the season, Ben & Jerry's Halloween Page has all the ghoulish tricks, treats, and tips to help you have a safe and happy holiday.

Most people think Halloween originated in North America. In fact, the traditions of Halloween can be traced as far back as the Celts who believed that every year, on the last day of October, the souls of the dead visited the earth. Other countries have also embraced the customs of Halloween, including Mexico where the festival of The Day of the Dead, El Dia de los Meurtos, begins the eve of October 31st. Feeling brave? Then, check out the link to the Mexico Connect's Day of the Dead page where you can find out how Mexico honors those gone but not forgotten.

Ben & Jerry's Halloween Page has plenty of ways to help you set a chilling mood. Click on Halloween Crafts for scary cut outs like a haunted house and a skeleton with extra arms and legs that you can stick to just about anything. All you need is a printer, crayons, glue, and some deathly inspiration. Want to out-spook your co-workers? Then, decorate your desktop with a Halloween scene available in both Windows and Macintosh format.

Ben & Jerry's Halloween

For recipes that will have the dead rising up from their graves, Ben & Jerry's Halloween Page links you to the Soar Halloween recipe collection. With hundreds of ghoulish choices, you're bound to find creepy crawly recipes that any ghost will love. Featured holiday treats include Frightfully Easy Ghost Cookies, Black Cat Cupcakes, and Wormy Baked Apples.

There's even more unearthly activities at Ben & Jerry's Halloween Page like taking a virtual visit to the Flavor Graveyard. Here, you can join others as they mourn the passing of dearly departed flavors of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Or, play some of the online games like Boogie Bones and Cosmic Cow. Full of ghostly goodies and scary surprises, this fright site is sure to please.
